Tim Hutton Electrical and Foleys have joined forces in South Otago. With Tim coming on board Foleys' will now be able to serve our domestic and commercial clients for all electrical services out of Balclutha.
Tim brings a wealth of experience and local knowledge to the South Otago team and is ideally suited to help us grow our Electrical presence to give the best possible service to our clients in the South.
Servicing Gas Appliances
As with most appliances there are some simple service requirements that ensure safe and efficient operating. These are normally required every 12 months or as per manufacturer’s instructions. We have set out below the tasks we carry out.
Pipe work – pressure test all pipe work to ensure soundness [Earthquakes, people knocking pipe work etc can all cause small leaks that could remain undetected.]
Gas Regulator pressure – The gas suppliers ‘bottle station’ has a regulator with a preset pressure. This gas supply pressure is critical to operating an efficient flame. The diaphragms in these valves do perish over time and if they are not providing the correct flow and pressure the gas the appliance will be operating in-efficiently and could use more gas than required. If this needs replaced or further servicing, then this cost will be covered by your supplier as this bottle station generally is owned by them..
Instantaneous Hot water and storage HWC – We check and clean the filters on the water inlet valve and check the operating pressure. Check mains pressure valves for HWC check burner and operating gas pressure.
Gas fires- Check the operating pressure, check the flue, and check burner operation. Clean the dust and lint off the blades inside the fire for safe passage of combustion air.
Gas hobs- Check and clear injectors, check aeration on flame and re calibrate.
